Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, gave away 1000 ETH (~$100.000) to a three developers team in answer to their requests for support. Before you’ll think it - no, it’s not a simple manifestation of generosity form Vitalik’s side. ETH, as are many other crypto currencies in the past months, is in need of further development helping the token to get more market traction and become a better product. Therefore mr Buterin decided to support teams working on various improvements of the Ethereum platform (all of which have been deeply analyzed before the donation).
Such support might be a real help and injection of motivation. On the other hand however, there are no actual guaranties when and whether additional ETH spent on this and other teams which decided to ask Vitalik for help, will actually produce any industry-changing revolutions. What’s your opinion? Do you think such “donations” should be made? Or rather more skilled team should be hired by mr Buterin where the money expenditures and analysis of the outcomes could be easily controlled?
